Support Project engineers with design reviews, detailed analysis, and work instructions to be used within the company to manufacture and produce quality products that meet customer requirements. Participate in job shadowing efforts with Quality and Manufacturing engineering.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
Solid Works, AutoCAD, or Solid Edge Experience
Ability to communicate and work well with others.
Duties & Responsibilities
Support the assigned Project Engineer on the design project from its conception to completion.
Work with quality and manufacturing groups to become familiar with process specifications related to engineering.
Become familiar with the standard engineering methods and tools used to develop new designs.
Support the development and implementation of new designs (Design analysis, risk mitigation, review of safety factors & stack-ups, reliability tools, schedules and design reviews).
When assigned, support the failure analysis process providing support and final review of all reports.
Verify designs have adequate Safety Factors prior to releasing to production (work with customer / redesign if required to obtain producible designs).
Work with the assigned Project engineer to provide clear direction on new designs.
Maintain a master schedule and participate in periodic design reviews to evaluate the design concept and review the safety margins.
Provide design support for transition from prototype to production with assembly manager, shop foreman, and applicable project engineer to verify all of the design details have been accounted for.
Provide engineering support to trouble shoot and diagnose non-performing product.
Provide continued design support once the design has moved into production (EC’s, NCR’s, work instructions, tooling, gages, rework routings, failure analysis, etc.).
Other duties as assigned.
