The Nondestructive Testing technician will independently perform inspections utilizing various NDT techniques seeking corrosion, defects, or detrimental conditions in accordance with specific written criteria, primarily for magnetic particle (MT) and fluorescent penetrant processes (PT). The Technician will perform inspections, interpret indications, and report results per company requirements. The Technician will be able to communicate processes, procedures and results to customers. The NDT Technician will work under a Level 2 to be trained and directed to develop necessary skills for NDT, if necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of NDT is desired.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel).
General knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Ability to communicate and work well with others with good verbal and written skills.
Utilize safe work practices.
Ability to handle chemicals in a safe manner.
Self-motivated.
Proficient with basic math and science principles.
Technical reading capabilities recommended.
Mechanical inspection experience is a plus.
Duties & Responsibilities
Maintains a safe, secure and healthy environment by adhering to Company/Customer safety standards and practices and to legal regulations, alerting others regarding potential hazards or concerns.
Assist with the set up and help calibrate nondestructive testing equipment.
Performs all duties as assigned and adheres to RAM’s policies and procedures.
Assists the NDT Technician Lead. Help conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of inspection.
Assist in establishing techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations
Assist in applying testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
Performs any duties assigned by the NDT Technician Lead on the job.
Helps in maintaining NADCAP NDT certification.
Performs NDT inspections for which certified.
Interprets and reports results of inspections and maintains documentation of inspection activities.
Other duties as assigned.
